The Common Market Annual Report 2024
In 2024, The Common Market partnered with 146 family farms and more than 700 food-buying institutions and communities across 4 regions, and 15 U.S. states to drive real impact—and a chance to celebrate the American farmer.
2024 was also a standout year for The Common Market and schools across our regions—we helped 351 partners serve as a nexus for student health and farmer viability. School districts seeking to expand their local, values-based procurement formed connections with new, wholesome products, thereby strengthening ties to more than 100 American farmers. These partnerships strengthened the backbone of resilient, regional food systems. One powerful example: Country View Dairy of Hawkeye, Iowa, served Chicago Public Schools for the first time—bringing wholesome yogurt to the nation’s fourth-largest school district and opening the door to transformative growth for this mid-sized, family-owned farm. Stories like this, shared throughout our report, show how a simple cafeteria tray can spark lasting change.
